Actor Charles Malik Whitfield From Tyler Perry’s ‘Beauty in Black’ Gives Fury vs Makhmudov Prediction

We are just a little under 24 hours away from Saturday’s heavyweight battle, streaming live on Netflix, between former WBC champion Tyson Fury and top contender Arslanbek Makhmudov. With such a big event on the streaming platform, FightsATW checked in with an actor from the Tyler Perry Netflix series Beauty in Black.

Charles Malik Whitfield, who plays “Jules” on the show, is from the Bronx, NY, and is familiar with major boxing events, having grown up surrounded by them. With the fight coming up and all eyes on the heavyweights, Whitfield weighed in on the fight, as the expectation is that it will hit big, like his role in the series Beauty in Black.

“I think Tyson Fury is a very seasoned boxer who has seen adversity and knows what it looks like. He knows what it means to get off the canvas and dig deep. Arslanbek Makhmudov is super talented. Personally, I think the edge is with Tyson Fury’s corner early. However, we may see a fight that goes the distance.

“These are big boys, so when they swing, they swing with bad intentions at times. It’s going to depend on how much Tyson Fury engages. For some reason, I don’t see him looking to walk him down. There might be some dancing and walking around with both being a little careful. I think Tyson doesn’t want to catch anything too early. I don’t think his approach will be ‘let’s get to it and punch ourselves out.’ I think that’s why the fight will go to the scorecards.

“We’ll know in the first three rounds whether anyone is really trying to knock anyone out. I’m picking Tyson Fury by a small edge because he’s had a long career, and it only takes one punch. I don’t see Tyson Fury fighting much more after this.”

Recently, Whitfield has taken to social media to announce that season two of Beauty in Black is number one worldwide on Netflix, as the show continues to attract new viewers since its October 2024 original release.
