On the road to “Blood & Guts,” as well as “Full Gear 2025,” AEW held Wednesday’s episode of “Dynamite” inside the Bayou Music Center in Houston. Battle advantage matches for the men’s and women’s “Blood & Guts” bouts took place, as well as a quarterfinal match in the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament.
‘Hangman’ Page Saves Tony Schiavone
Tony Schiavone was in the ring to announce a new national championship, but he was interrupted by The Opps. Samoa Joe said he finds it hard to believe Schiavone didn’t have something to do with him being duped by “Hangman” Adam Page last week. Joe said there are consequences for Schiavone’s actions.
The Opps were going to enter the ring, but AEW security ran down. Page made his way out before things got physical. Joe and The Opps were going to attack, but Eddie Kingston and HOOK hit the ring. HOOK dared The Opps to put the AEW World Trios Championship on the line against him, Page, and Kingston. Joe accepted before The Opps stormed off.
Blood & Guts Advantage Battle: Orange Cassidy vs. Claudio Castagnoli
Orange Cassidy hit a suicide dive before the match even began. The bell finally rang, but the action quickly spilled outside again. Castagnoli delivered a front suplex, sending Cassidy’s ribs crashing onto the barricade. He then suplexed Cassidy back in the ring.
Castagnoli caught Cassidy again and went for a stalling suplex, but his opponent went for a rear-naked choke. The Death Riders member tried spinning out of it, but Cassidy held on. Castagnoli snapped Cassidy’s fingers and connected with the big swing.
Cassidy put his hands in his pockets, but Castagnoli quickly hit a vertical suplex. Cassidy put his hands back in his pockets, but Castagnoli landed another slam. Cassidy fired up and hit a dropkick on his opponent. Cassidy then landed a flying DDT for a near fall.
Castagnoli went for a powerbomb, but Cassidy countered with a sunset flip. Castagnoli went for a superplex, but Cassidy countered with a Slumdog Millionaire. Cassidy reversed a pop-up European uppercut with an Orange Punch. He went for another, but this time, Castagnoli hit the uppercut for the victory.
Winner: Claudio Castagnoli
Don Callis Makes Proposal to Mark Briscoe
Mark Briscoe challenged Kyle Fletcher backstage, and he didn’t want a response from Don Callis. Briscoe called for the title match to happen at “Full Gear” in a no-disqualification match. Callis said Briscoe needs to give him something. He said if Briscoe loses, he has to join the Don Callis Family.
The Young Bucks Pressured to Make Don Callis’ Family Decision
Renee Paquette was with The Young Bucks, Don Callis, and Josh Alexander. She asked Matt and Nick Jackson if they had officially joined The Don Callis Family before Callis interrupted. He said he’ll do whatever it takes to ensure The Young Bucks get the respect they deserve. Callis brought in Kazuchika Okada and the rest of his faction. Okada told The Young Bucks not to take too long before deciding whether to join.
AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament Quarterfinal: Mercedes Mone and Athena vs. Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale
Mercedes Mone and Athena immediately attacked their opponents. Mone went to work on Cameron, while Athena took care of Nightingale outside of the ring. Both Mone and Athena took turns keeping Cameron grounded before Nightingale got the tag.
Nightingale splashed both of her opponents in the corner before hitting a missile dropkick off the middle rope. Cameron was back in the ring, and Nightingale lifted her up and slammed her onto Mone. Athena lifted Mone in a Gory Bomb position and slammed her partner onto Cameron.
Nightingale sent Athena flying into Mone with a pounce. She got into a striking exchange with Athena, which she ended with a clothesline. She then nailed Mone with a Death Valley Driver. Athena showcased her strength by lifting both of her opponents for a fallaway slam.
Billie Starks tried to hand the ROH Women’s World Championship to Athena, but Kris Statlander attacked her. Nightingale landed the Doctor Bomb, allowing Cameron to spike Athena with her finishing move for the surprising win.

The Hurt Syndicate and The Demand Join National Title Gauntlet
Tony Schiavone was back in the ring. He went into detail about a planned casino gauntlet match, with the winner receiving the AEW National Championship. He introduced Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley, who will both participate in the gauntlet. They were joined by their fellow Hurt Syndicate member MVP.
MVP said that whether it’s Lashley or Benjamin who wins the gauntlet, the fans will ultimately win. The Demand interrupted, and Ricochet poked fun at the ages of the members of The Hurt Syndicate. MVP threatened to lay a beatdown on The Demand before Ricochet promised that one member of his faction would win the gauntlet.
Jack Perry Delivers a Message To The Young Bucks
Jurassic Express was backstage. Jack Perry had a message for The Young Bucks: friendship is more important than money. He then drove a knife into a $100 bill. Luchasuarus tried to steal the money, but Perry told him to leave it alone.
Blood & Guts Advantage Battle: Darby Allin vs. Daniel Garcia
Daniel Garcia was in a headlock, but he grabbed the ear of Darby Allin. Garcia’s arm was trapped on the ring post, and Allin rained down elbows. He then bit Garcia before hitting a suicide dive.
Garcia trapped Allin under the ring apron and delivered a big boot. He then sent Allin’s knee crashing into the steps. Back in the ring, Garcia fell into a guillotine choke. He countered to sink in a sleeper hold. Garcia then landed a superplex, but Allin fired up and landed a Scorpion Deathdrop.
Allin went for the Coffin Drop, but Garcia tripped him out of the ring. Garcia trapped Allin behind the ring steps and landed a basement dropkick. While Garcia was arguing with referee Bryce Remsburg, Pac clotheslined Allin.
Garcia mocked Allin and locked up the Scorpion Deathlock. Allin countered and sunk in his own Scorpion Deathlock to force the tap.
Winner: Darby Allin
Pac attacked Allin after the match. Orange Cassidy ran down to fight Pac before Wheeler Yuta dropped him with a busaiku knee. Things began to break down as the rest of the Death Riders ran down to take out members of The Conglomeration. Roderick Strong took out Jon Moxley with a flying knee.
FTR Makes Things Personal With Brodido
FTR made their way out without Stokely Hathaway. Cash Wheeler bragged about FTR’s No. 1 contender win for a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship. He said FTR should’ve been champions at “Forbidden Door” in London. He called for the champions Brodido to meet them in the ring.
Brodido’s music hit, but they didn’t make their way out. The team was locked in their dressing room. Stokely Hathaway was outside the room and told Renee Paquette that he didn’t know what had happened.
Dax Harwood then approached Bandido’s family, who were in the crowd. Harwood asked Bandido’s grandmother how old she was. He then guessed she wasn’t a day over 113. Harwood kept cutting Bandido’s grandmother off and said she must be embarrassed to call Bandido her family.
Gravity had enough, and he attacked FTR. Brody King punched a hole through the locker room and unlocked the door. FTR was going to hit a spike piledriver on Gravity before Brodido ran down to make the save.
Blood & Guts Advantage Battle: Mina Shirakawa vs. Megan Bayne w/Penelope Ford
“Timeless” Toni Storm made her way out to serve as a guest commentator for the match. Penelope Ford was in an arm sling.
Megan Bayne lifted Mina Shirakawa up, but she countered and was sent to the ropes. Shirakawa delivered a dropkick, sending Bayne onto the apron. She then dropkicked her opponent off the apron. Shirakawa took out Bayne with a flying crossbody outside of the ring.
Back in the ring, Bayne landed a super fallaway slam. Shirakawa delivered a kick to a charging Bayne. She then landed a tornillo. Bayne then scored a German suplex. The action spilled to the ring apron, and both attempted suplexes. Shirakawa ultimately landed a snap suplex.
Bayne recovered to connect with a superplex. Shirakawa countered a powerbomb attempt and delivered a rolling elbow, followed by a sling blade off the top rope. Marina Shafir choked Toni Storm, which distracted Shirakawa. This allowed Bayne to land a running powerbomb for the win.
Winner: Megan Bayne
After the match, Storm ran into the ring with a chair before Triangle of Madness ambushed her. Jamie Hayter, Harley Cameron, and Willow Nightingale evened the odds. Mercedes Mone and Kris Statlander also got involved.
The Opps (c) vs. ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, Eddie Kingston, and HOOK – for the AEW World Trios Championship
Samoa Joe pretended to start the match with “Hangman” Adam Page before tagging in Katsuyori Shibata. Page and Shibata exchanged forearms. Shibata avoided clothesline attempts with kicks. Shibata landed a running boot in the corner. He went for his signature corner dropkick, but Page blasted him with a lariat.
HOOK was tagged in, and he landed a northern lights suplex. Shibata rebounded and tagged in Powerhouse Hobbs. HOOK and Hobbs, who are former stablemates, traded strikes. Hobbs drove HOOK’s back on his knee. HOOK popped back up and landed an overhead suplex.
Eddie Kingston and Joe were the legal participants. Joe kept Kingston grounded in the ring, while HOOK was on the floor outside the ring. Kingston rolled out of the way to avoid a senton. Page and Hobbs were tagged in. “Hangman” knocked Shibata off the apron, and he sent Hobbs out of the ring.
Page went for a dive, but Hobbs caught him. “Hangman” sent Hobbs crashing into the ring post. Inside the ring, Page landed a moonsault for a near fall. Kingston made a blind tag, while Page took out Shibata with a suicide dive.
In the ring, Shibata took out HOOK with a leg trip. Hobbs slammed Page’s back on the ring apron twice. Shibata took out Kingston with a German suplex. “Hangman” and Hobbs fought at the top of the stage. Hobbs drove Page off the stage and through a table.
Shibata accidentally hit Joe with a big boot. Kingston then landed an exploder suplex on Shibata. HOOK tagged back in and looked for a submission, but Hobbs forced the tap with a torture rack.
