AEW Signs New Distribution Deal With Warner Bros. Discovery

After months of speculation, Tony Khan’s AEW (All Elite Wrestling) announced their new distribution deal with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) earlier today. Although it was the worst-kept secret in the industry, the announcement sent waves through the wrestling industry along with the fans on social media. Hours before televising their 5th Anniversary show via AEW Dynamite, the news was released along with Khan announcing that Wednesday night’s program would go over the two hour mark to fit in some big announcements.

Here are some of the details from today’s announcement.

“WBD’s networks and platforms will remain the exclusive home of AEW Dynamite (Wednesdays on TBS) and AEW Collision (Saturdays on TNT), with enhanced distribution rights across social platforms as well as building opportunities for additional AEW programming for linear and digital platforms in the future. Additionally, for the first time, all AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision programming starting January 2025 will stream live exclusively on Max (U.S. subscribers only). All AEW programming airing on WBD’s networks will also be available to stream on demand on Max. AEW and WBD will also collaborate to distribute AEW live pay-per-view events on Max at a discounted price per event, with all marketing and promotions of those PPV events exclusively centered on Max. AEW PPV distribution on Max will begin later in 2025, with additional information and pricing to be shared in the coming months.”

Now that the deal is announced, it will be up to Khan and his wrestlers to put over the announcement with a big show on Dynamite. One of the matches that will be sure to do that is Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet. Will Kenny Omega show up tonight? Are we getting the heavily speculated return of Shane McMahon to the wrestling business? Is Bobby Lashley officially signing to AEW tonight or will we get Becky Lynch? There are so many questions; later tonight, some will be answered while others will be left unanswered.
