Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) is all set to face Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) for a mismatched showdown on Saturday. Even though barely a day remains for the fight, there is another fight that has long been in the books, his fight against Tyson Fury. As fans hope to see the all-British mega fight reach fruition, Joshua has a word of warning for Fury.
Talking on the Ring Magazine’s Mr. Verzace Podcast, Joshua shed light on how his former opponent took Fury down and admitted that it was about time that Fury got humbled.
“He nearly got knocked out in their first fight. I wish Usyk caught him with one more shot, I was on the edge of my seat, throwing the punch,” said Joshua.“I wish Usyk knocked him out, he needs to be humbled. But I swear, if I ever get the opportunity, I will lay him flat on his back.”
One could say Joshua’s words are valid, for his comments came barely a few days after Fury took a dig at him on social media. Notably, on his Instagram stories, Fury had dished out a host of (un)pleasantries at Joshua, calling him a “classless loser coming off a 15-month knockout defeat.” Moreover, after mockingly admitting that he isn’t a YouTuber, Fury vowed to knock him out if he ever came across him.

Both Joshua and Fury have faced Usyk twice, so their fight should have happened a lot earlier.
Joshua, however, is tired of running around and doesn’t even consider Fury a real fighter. “I’m looking for real fighters; Tyson is not a real fighter in my eyes,” he said. “Unless you want to fight, shut the f*ck up.”
“He Will Always Be Sceptical”
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, also doubled down on Joshua’s words, stating that their team has always been ready for the fight. And Fury and his team constantly backing out has even made Joshua doubt the fight will ever happen.
“Every train you get on, every road you walk down, every taxi you get in, they say the same thing: when is AJ fighting Fury? We know, every time that fight was put to us, we were ready, and we signed for it,” he said. “He [Joshua] will always be sceptical of this fight taking place. I don’t think he’ll get excited until he is looking him in the eyes in the ring.”
