WBA cruiserweight champion Arsen Goulamirian (27-0, 19 KOs) will defend his title against Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez (45-1, 30 KOs). This will be Ramirez’s first title shot in the cruiserweight division.

The champion Goulamirian has been inactive and recorded zero fights last year. He had one fight in 2022, a 12-round unanimous decision victory over Aleksei Egorov. He brought on Abel Sanchez for this training camp and worked exclusively out of the Summit Gym in Big Bear, CA. Will that Goulamirian-Sanchez connection be enough to be Zurdo?

Ramirez hasn’t been too active either, as he only fought once last year. That was a unanimous decision victory over Joe Smith Jr. Zurdo. He has an opportunity to make a name for himself in the cruiserweight division while also earning a title. After killing himself to make weight at super middleweight and light heavyweight, Ramirez can take control of a wide-open division and bring notoriety back to it.
