Australian Boxing Sensation Cesar Mateo Tapia joins No Limit Boxing in Multi-Year Deal

SYDNEY– 14 February, 2024 – Australian boxing sensation Cesar Mateo Tapia has signed a long-term deal with the Rose brothers and No Limit Boxing.

Tapia, who has fought almost exclusively with international promoters since turning professional at age 18, is one of the most entertaining and highly sought after Australian fighters in boxing.

The undefeated fighter hailing from Narrabeen in Sydney has been living and training in the U.S. in recent years, but is preparing for a return on home soil in coming months.

Promoter George Rose is looking to unleash the former Australian champion back into action as early as April. The 25-year-old plans to relaunch his career at middleweight, having campaigned at super-middleweight in his career to date.

Mateo Tapia said: “They say that good things come to those who wait and I couldn’t be happier to sign with No Limit Boxing and the Rose brothers,” said Tapia.

“With the backing of No Limit Boxing, I believe everything is possible. They’ve done great things in the country for the sport. I believe I’m one of the best fighters in Australia, I’ve just never had the chance to show too much as I’ve been fighting overseas for the last couple of years.

“There’s not much I haven’t experienced already in my life, both inside and outside the ring. It’s what drives me to be better each day andI’ve given my life to this sport. It’s why I’m so excited to be coming back home, fighting back home and showing the people of Australia they have another greatfighter and future world champion in front of them. Let’s get this showrolling!”

No Limit Boxing CEO, George Rose: “I am delighted to finally welcome Mateo to the stable. We’ve been massive fans of Mateo and everything he brings to the sport and are honoured to be trusted with the next steps of his career and getting him a world title shot.”

“People have told me Mateo’s the best Australian boxer you’ve never heard of. It’s our job to flip that narrative, because he’s honestly one of the most brutal and entertaining fighters in the world. He’ll feature very highly on on some of our biggest cards.”

“He’s already proved he’s world-level status at super-middleweight, so it’s also exciting for him to be bringing that power down to the middleweight division that, in all honesty, is ripe for the picking.”

“He has those same rare qualities you only see in the truly special fighters. It’s why I’m confident it’s a matter of when, not if, he takes over the division.”
