The boxing community stood witness as Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) and Teofimo Lopez (19-1, 13 KOs) took brutal digs at each other on social media. It sure looked like both fighters had a lot of emotions bottled up as neither Crawford nor Lopez backed down and persistently continued to dig their nails deeper.
It all began when Lopez called out Crawford in an interview with Michelle Joy Phelps.
“I did call out Crawford. I said if it presents itself, we’d fight. At 147. It has to be at 147. When I beat Lomachenko, Crawford didn’t have no problem saying he’d come down and fight me. I’m not here to play games; I want to fight the best,” he said.
And @TeofimoLopez yo little bitch ass better worry about them little guys that’s on yo ass down there in yo weight class. It crazy every time I see yo hoe ass you don’t even look my way, but when you in front of a camera you got so much to say. You a pussy.

This callout, however, did not sit well with Crawford. In a tweet, he asked Lopez to stay in his lane. And focus on the “little guys” in his weight class instead. Moreover, he accused him of talking big in front of the camera and avoiding him in person.
Time will tell! You also need to focus on getting yourself out that trapped contract you in with @ErrolSpenceJr & Al Haymon.

Last I recall your the only one in a fucked up situation with TopRank😂😂😂 go cry me a river.
— Terence Crawford (@terencecrawford) January 10, 2024
Lopez quickly hit back by telling him that he needed to work on getting out of the contract with Al Haymon and former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr (28-1, 22 KOs).
On the other hand, Crawford responded by asking him to fix his situation with Top Rank.
Hey @TeofimoLopez naw real shit good luck in yo fight. Focus on him because he can fight and I don’t want you to look bad worrying about me when you got other problems on yo hand.👍🏿😁
— Terence Crawford (@terencecrawford) January 10, 2024
Crawford further went on to wish him luck for his upcoming fight against Jamaine Ortiz (17-1-1, 8 KOs). “He can fight and I don’t want you to look bad worrying about me when you got other problems on yo hand,” he said.
Been did that in 2014 sir😭😭😭
— Terence Crawford (@terencecrawford) January 10, 2024

— Terence Crawford (@terencecrawford) January 10, 2024
Lopez reposted Crawford’s tweet as a final effort and stated that he has not won ‘Fighter of the Year’ despite being an undisputed champion in two weight classes. However, Crawford responded, “Been did that in 2014 sir.” He repeated the same by commenting on Lopez’s post after winning the ‘Fighter of the Year’ award.
The boxing community had a blast
Boxing aficionados were certainly all for the drama between Crawford and Lopez. In fact, many of them even took to social media to share their thoughts.

It sure looks like their online beef has amused fans, but only time will tell if this beef will remain online or spill onto the boxing ring.
