Charlo vs LaManna Fight Results: Charlo Scores a Dominant Sixth Round TKO

Super middleweight Jermall Charlo (34-0, 23 KOs) wasted no time on Saturday night as he scored a sixth-round TKO over Thomas LaManna (39-6-1, 18 KOs) as the co-main on Prime Video.

LaManna tried his best, but Charlo was too dominant and never allowed him to get his offense going. According to CompuBox, “Charlo was 67 of 210, 32% in total punches while LaManna was only able to manage 19 of 150, 13%. Charlo landed 44 jabs and 23 power shots, which led to 3 knockdowns.”

The opening round had a slow pace to it as Charlo kept busy with his piston-like left jab, but it was in moments. LaManna landed a left jab of his own but followed it with an overhand right, which only landed twice throughout the round. Charlo’s stiff left jab was the story of the second round, as LaManna could not find a way to avoid it. Frustration began to settle in for LaManna as he could not get his offense going.

In the third round, Charlo landed an overhand right to the temple of LaManna, sending him down for the first knockdown of the fight. LaManna would survive the round as Charlo could not finish him. Charlo would step up his offense and, in the middle of the fourth round, landed a left hook that folded LaManna in half. Although the referee did not call it a knockdown, after the replay, the commission reversed the initial call and awarded Charlo with another knockdown.

In the fifth round, Charlo landed a straight right hand through the high guard of LaManna, sending him down for the third time in the fight. LaManna beat the count and made it to the end of the round. While LaManna was sitting on his stool, the ringside physician went to check on him and recommended to the referee that the fight should be stopped. The referee then waived it off, awarding Charlo the TKO victory.
