After two brutal fights in 2025 with Conor Benn, a disturbing video surfaced online on Tuesday showing Chris Eubank Jr on a hospital bed, and it didn’t look good.
The caption below the video says on X, “I’ve been dealing with a lot of health issues over the last year & yeah it all finally caught up to me last month. I will not box again until I’m back to 100% & I don’t know when that will be, but one things for certain… For the fans that have supported me through thick & thin, I will do everything in my power to make sure that one day, the old me makes a big comeback.”
It is no secret that Eubank nearly risked his life to make the contracted weight of 160 pounds, which also included a weigh-in on the morning of the fight, where he couldn’t gain more than ten pounds. Leading up to their April fight, Eubank went over the contracted weigh-in limit and had to pay $500,000 for it. This time, Eubank admitted that he negotiated for a higher purse to offset coming down to 160 pounds, but it was still very challenging for him to make weight.
Prior to the rematch in November, a video surfaced of Eubank trying to cut the last of his weight to make the 160-pound limit. Just like the first fight, he looked bad on the scales and was fatigued late in the fight because of the weight cut. This recent video, which has surfaced online, shows how dangerous these weight cuts can be and how they can have a long-term effect on you.
