Danny Limelight & Slice Boogie Retain UWN Tag Titles, Call Out The Hardys & The Good Brothers

IRVINE, California—In the season premiere for the United Wrestling Network (UWN) at the Improv in Irvine, CA, the tag team champions 5150, made up of Danny Limelight and Slice Boogie, successfully defended their titles against Wolf Zaddies (Che Cabrera & Tito Escondido), while earning the biggest ovation of the night.

When the doors opened for the event at the Improv, the line stretched around the corner as fans were eager to see the matches scheduled for Tuesday night. It was an engaged crowd as they all enjoyed food and drinks throughout the evening, but it wasn’t until the UWN tag team title match between 5150 and Wolf Zaddies that the crowd truly got into it.

When Wolf Zaddies made their entrance, they were met with loud cheers from the packed crowd, which was expected for the well-known face tag team. Now, when 5150 came out, there was a lot of heat on them as Danny Limelight and Slice Boogie are all New York through and through, so the Southern California crowd was letting them have it.

As soon as all four were in the ring, Wolf Zaddies jumped on 5150 as they attempted to surprise the tag team champions. Then, team Wolf Zaddies clotheslined 5150 to the outside of the ring, where the match continued. After some back-and-forth action outside, Wolf Zaddies threw Limelight back into the ring, and the bell finally rang to start the match. When Limelight was thrown back into the ring, his leg was caught on the ropes, causing him to clutch his knee almost immediately. Escondido grabbed Limelight and lifted him up for a suplex that seemed like Limelight was in the air for five minutes before dropping him. Moments later, somehow, Limelight managed to reverse the move set in motion by Escondido and tagged Slice Boogie.

The event was hosted by United Wrestling Network at the Impriov in Irvine, CA.

Slice, the powerhouse, quickly restored the momentum to 5150 with his aggressive offense. Then came a part of the match that gave me all the vintage tag team feels like from the Hart Foundation, Steiner Brothers, Legion of Doom, etc. It was the smooth tags between Limelight and Boogie as they rotated in and out of the match in a way that seemed like “poetry in motion.” After that sequence drew a roar from the crowd, Boogie entered a chopping contest to the chest with Escondido, where both men delivered some serious chops. Escondido ended up gaining the upper hand in the exchange, and the rhythm returned to the Wolf Zaddies.

Escondido grabbed Boogie and executed a running DDT from the top rope. We then saw a hot tag by both teams with Che beating up on Limelight. Che executed a suplex off the ropes on Limelight and then went for the cover, but Limelight kicked out. Boogie then distracted the referee while Limelight hit Che with a low blow. 5150 was pulling out all of the heel moves, and even though the crowd was initially booing them, they could not deny that they were watching something special. At this point, the crowd chanted “This is awesome,” which was the only match that triggered such a reaction the whole night.

In the final sequence, the referee gets knocked out, and Boogie takes the belt and hits Che with it. When he attempts to hit Escondido with the belt, Boogie is kicked by Escondido, but Limelight somehow hits Escondido with a low blow while the referee is still knocked out. Limelight then covers Escondido after the referee wakes up, securing the pin and retaining their titles.

5150 and Wolf Zaddies had great chemistry in the ring, and they are a match I could watch over and over again.

5150 Wants All The Smoke With The Hardys, The Good Brothers & Any ‘OG’ Tag Team

After their match, 5150 spoke exclusively with FightsATW about what’s next and the tag teams they want to face in 2026.

“They aren’t including us cause they don’t want to,” said a confident Limelight. “The fact of the matter is that the best tag team on the East and West Coast is 5150 hasta la Muerte y después.”

5150 see themselves as outlaws looking for trouble at an indie event near you.

“You ask anyone who has seen us in person, we are the hottest tag team out there,” said Boogie. “A lot of people don’t want to see us on their shows because we are going to steal the spotlight, whether we are in a singles role or a tag team one. We already have the ball rolling. We are already doing our thing at House of Glory, 4th Rope, and we have the championship here at the United Wrestling Network. Anywhere we are booked, we are going to win, get over, the fans are going to love us, and we are going to get paid.”

When asked who they want next, Limelight said, “I want the Hardys!” Boogie added, “We want the legends. We are tired of helping other teams that are a little wet behind the ears.”

“Give us the Hardys, The Good Brothers, Brody King, and Bandido,” said Boogie. “Give us the OGs. Give us all the top names on the scene. If you’re not tied down by WWE and think you’re a legend, come holla at us.”

Well, there you have it. 5150 wants to use their current run to attract the biggest names, considered the best in the business. If I had to pick my favorite matchup, it would be 5150 versus the Hardys at a 4th Rope event or on TNA.

5150 is on the verge of a major tag team indie run, just like the Hardys had many years ago. Ironically, it could all culminate with a match against the Hardys sometime this year that no wrestling fan should miss.
