There were no scale fails in NYC for the WBO lightweight title fight tomorrow night on ESPN between Denys Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KOs) & Keyshawn Davis (12-0, 8 KOs), but there was a shove that caused a melee on stage during the weigh-in ceremony.

Thursday’s press conference was the start of all this when Davis received a “gift box,” the morning of which contained some bananas and watermelon along with a note that contained racist remarks. The presser then had an uncomfortable aura around it, leading to more unpleasant remarks being exchanged by both camps.
After the two fighters weighed in at Thursday’s weigh-in ceremony, they turned to the press for pictures, and that’s when Berinchyk pushed Davis, which appeared out of frustration with all of Davis’ talking. Chaos quickly developed but only lasted less than a minute as staff were there to defuse the situation.
We have a fight tomorrow night on ESPN, and aside from the main event, there are some solid matchups on the undercard. Tune in to ESPN+ at the start of the evening to catch fighters like Juanmita Lopez De Jesus, Nico Ali Walsh, and more.
