The ‘Bronze Bomber’ returns on Friday, June 27, live on PPV.com.
Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (43-4-1, 42 KOs) returns to the ring after a 12-month layoff against veteran Tyrrell Herndon (24-5, 15 KOs) in a scheduled ten-round bout live from the Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Kansas.
There is a ton at stake for the 39-year-old Wilder, who was last seen in the ring in June 2024 when Zhilei Zhang stopped him in the fifth round of their fight. Many thought it would be the last time Wilder would lace up his gloves, but here we are. There may still be an opportunity for a fight with Anthony Joshua, so an impressive victory is needed for his career to move forward.
Herndon, from San Antonio, TX, was stopped by Richard Torrez in October 2023, but since then has won three consecutive fights leading into Friday’s main event with Wilder. Herndon has an opportunity to make a name for himself if he can stop Wilder, but he will have to do so while avoiding that huge right hand from the Bronze Bomber.
