While not an explosive clash per se, it could be said that Shakur Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) vs. Devin Haney (33-0, 15 KOs) is one of the most sought-after fights currently. And if Haney’s father, Bill Haney, is to be believed, fans might not have to wait too long to see the fight reach fruition.

In conversation with Champside, the older Haney revealed that a fight between Stevenson and his son is under consideration.

“What I can say is that it’s a fight on the table for Devin and Shakur with that group right now,” he said.

Haney vs. Stevenson is one of the most sought-after fights in boxing, especially among hardcore fans and analysts, because it pits two undefeated, highly skilled fighters with a long history dating back to their amateur days against each other. Many purists see it as a genuine 50-50 matchup and one of the best technical fights in the sport.

However, promoter Eddie Hearn infamously said the fight is “not that big”. One could say the main reason it isn’t viewed as a guaranteed blockbuster is that both men are known more for their boxing skills than knockout-heavy action, which can make them less appealing to casual fans.

Dana White, on the other hand, has repeatedly hinted that both fighters are either joining or being targeted by Zuffa Boxing. When Haney was asked whether Zuffa would take the matchup under its wing, he had only one thing to say.

“Well, we know that Eddie Hearn says that he doesn’t have the money to pay Shakur or Devin, right on that platform. So it leads us to believe that Zuffa and that team, Turki and all of those guys, want to make the fight happen,” he said.

“Let’s Do It”

Meanwhile, it looks like the younger Haney might have already picked his next opponent. When Keyshawn Davis called him out, Haney took to X to give him the answer that fans crave.

“Let’s do it KEYSHAWN,” he wrote.
