There will be a new entrant in the P4P rankings next week, and that name is 27-year-old unified (IBF & WBA) & Ring Magazine welterweight champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis.
Ennis (34-0, 30 KOs) scored a sixth-round TKO over Eimantas Stanionis (15-1, 9 KOs) on DAZN as Stanionis’ corner called for the fight to be stopped after the sixth round. It appeared Stanionis, who suffered a knockdown in the sixth, did not want to continue after the advisement of his trainer. Ennis was on fire, and when asked about the stoppage, he said, “I felt like I was just getting into my groove.”

According to CompuBox, “Ennis was 81 of 424 in total punches while Stanionis went 58 of 185. Ennis held a 65 to 29 connect advantage in power punches.”
In the opening round, Ennis wasted no time establishing the left jab to the body and head of Stanionis while in the conventional stance. Stanionis pressured Ennis but only used movement to get inside instead of a jab. Stanionis did land a big left hook towards the end of the round, which made Ennis switch to southpaw until the bell rang.
Ennis continued to dominate with his jab, but it was from the southpaw stance in the second round. He made one mistake in the round, which was staying in too close for an extended period of time which allowed Stanionis to land a huge left hook flush on Ennis’ chin. In the third round, things got interesting as Ennis kept using the jab to set up the right uppercut, but in certain moments on the inside, Stanionis landed some big left hooks and straight right hands. Both fighters appeared buzzed at different points throughout the round.

Ennis began to feel it in the fourth round as he was showboating a bit while displaying his high-level hand speed and footwork. Stanionis did land clean shots occasionally, but Ennis landed at will throughout the round. The fifth round was interesting as Stanionis was landing some big punches early on, but then Ennis flipped the switch and began to bust up Stanionis on the inside. Ennis overwhelmed Stanionis with volume and speed leading to Stanionis’ nose beginning to bleed.
In the sixth round, Ennis attacked Stanionis’ body relentlessly, and a triple left uppercut combination led to Stanionis taking a knee. He beat the count and made it to the end of the round, but once he went to his corner, Stanionis’ team called to stop the fight, awarding Ennis the TKO victory.

Super featherweight Raymond Ford (17-1-1, 8 KOs) put on a dominant performance over Thomas Mattice(22-5-1, 17 KOs) as the co-main on DAZN. All three judges scored it identically (100-90) for Ford, who now moves on to a potential title fight at the end of the year.
Welterweight prospect Omari Jones (2-0, 2 KOs) didn’t break a sweat as he knocked out William Jackson (13-5-2, 5 KOs) in the first round of their fight. A right uppercut to the breadbasket was the punch that sent Jackson tumbling down. The referee began the count but Jackson could not get up as he was in pain from the body shot. Jones picks up his second pro win and moves on to the next opponent.

Welterweight Shakhram Giyasov (17-0, 10 KOs) took care of business quickly on the DAZN opener as he knocked out Franco Ocampo (17-3, 8 KOs) in the fourth round of their fight. It was a straight right hand to the body of Ocampo that sent him down to a knee, and he would not be able to get up, awarding Giyasov with the knockout victory.

In the opening round, Giyasov landed a huge left hook that Ocampo and, after a flurry of shots, sent him down to the canvas. Ocampo barely made it to the end of the round as he was really hurt. Giyasov continued to hurt Ocampo throughout the second and third rounds, as Ocampo could not get out of the way from the left hook. The fourth round came, and Giyasov landed the one-hitter quitter, earning him his 17th victory.
