Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao 2 Confirmed For September 19 at The Sphere in Las Vegas

After much speculation about a rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. (50-0, 27 KOs) and Manny Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs), Netflix announced on Monday that the fight will indeed happen on September 19 at The Sphere in Las Vegas, NV, and will be streamed live on Netflix.

The first time they met was in May 2015, more than 10 years ago, and the fight was marketed as “The Fight of the Century,” a can’t-miss event, but unfortunately, it did not come close to delivering, with Mayweather earning a unanimous decision. Pacquiao claimed he had a shoulder injury before the fight that prevented him from performing at his best, but as time passed, all fans remember is that Mayweather came out on top.

Before we get to that fight, both Mayweather and Pacquiao have exhibitions in March and April, respectively. With Mayweather announcing his return as a pro just a few days ago, there were rumors of potential opponents, but it was always going to be Pacquiao, as that is the biggest money fight that can be made.

Mayweather made the following statement in the press release sent out on Monday. “I already fought and beat Manny once. This time will be the same result.”

Although Mayweather was a man of few words, his opponent Pacquiao opened up a little more about this huge event heading to Netflix in September. “Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history. The fans have waited long enough—they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix. I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him. As always, I dedicate this fight to my fellow Filipinos around the world and to bringing glory to the Philippines.”

With Mayweather turning 49 on Tuesday and Pacquiao recently turning 47, this fight should look much different from the first one. Some might say it could be a better fight because of their decreased footwork, speed, and reflexes. Regardless, even if fans on social media are posting that they don’t want to see this, the fight will draw global attention and be the biggest event of 2026.
