Make it title defense #1 for “The Towering Inferno.”
Sebastian Fundora defended his unified WBC/WBO junior middleweight titles when he took care of business against Chordale Booker Saturday evening at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, and he did it by closing the book on his opponent, who was badly outmatched in a fourth-round TKO in the main event of an Amazon Prime tripleheader.

The 27-year-old Fundora hadn’t fought for nearly a year after beating former titleholder Tim Tszyu in an upset unanimous decision last March 30 before spending time on the sidelines to rehab injuries. He also saw a potential bout with former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. fall through.
The fight was pretty much over before it started.
The 6-foot-6 Fundora (22-1-1, 14 KOs), a fellow southpaw with a massive nine-inch height advantage, dictated the pace of the bout from the onset behind his jab. In the opening round, Fundora backed up Booker consistently with the jab and rattled him with a pair of right hands.
Booker (23-2, 11 KOs), who suffered a first-round KO loss to Austin “Ammo” Williams in an April 2022 middleweight affair, continued to have issues late in the second round as Fundora’s non-stop pressure had him on the back foot. Fundora was warned late in the second round by referee Thomas Taylor for hitting behind the head.

With a minute to go in round three, Fundora began to mix it up downstairs, connecting with a left hand to the body that had Booker booking it. But with 17 seconds left in the round, Booker connected with a big overhand left before Fundora came back with a few hard shots before the bell rung. As Booker made his way to his corner, his nose was covered in blood.
It all ended in the fourth when Fundora stunned Booker with a three-punch combination, all left uppercuts, which sent him stumbling into the ropes before finally falling to the canvas. He beat the count, but Fundora jumped right back on him and pummeled him until Taylor waved off the fight at 2:51.

Fundora also recorded his first KO since April 2022, when he scored a ninth-round TKO of Erickson Lubin.
