Saudi Arabia will host its first-ever “Latino Night” as part of Riyadh Season and promoted by Golden Boy and BOXXER. The main event features WBA cruiserweight champion Gilberto ‘Zurdo’ Ramirez (46-1, 30 KOs), who faces WBO champion Chris Billam Smith (20-1, 13 KOs) in a unification bout. The winner will have two pieces of the division’s titles, bringing that fighter one step closer to becoming the undisputed champion.
Ramirez was last seen in March, where he faced the rugged Arsen Goulamirian and scored a unanimous decision victory and the right to call himself the WBA champion. Billam-Smith was also in action over the summer when he defeated Richard Riakporhe by unanimous decision. This intriguing matchup should make for an entertaining main event on Saturday night.
