Has the Conor Benn vs ‘Tank’ X Beef Paved the Way for a Potential Fight?

Conor Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) is at it once again. The WBA Continental Welterweight titleholder has gained notoriety for starting beefs with other boxers on social media. He was recently engaged in a messy squabble with three-division world champion Abdul ‘Tank’ Wahid (Formerly Gervonta Davis) (29-0, 27 KOs) on X. And now it looks like a potential fight might just be around the corner.

Tank has been missing from action since he dished out a seventh-round TKO against Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) on April 22, 2023. Meanwhile, Benn was recently seen winning his fight against Peter Dobson (16-1, 9 KOs) on February 3.

Post his victory, Benn took to X to share a photograph of himself as the winner. Moreover, he listed the fighters he wishes to face next, including prominent names such as Devin Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) and Errol Spence Jr (28-1, 22 KOs). Davis then responded to his tweet and called him out for a fight.

“Give me 3 weeks & a weekend in Turks, and yo ass is grass..you hear me!” Wahid wrote.

Wahid’s response undoubtedly sent Benn into a frenzy. He threw shade at Wahid’s recent trouble with the law. Benn asked his manager and Matchroom CEO, Eddie Hearn, to shoot Tank a DM and pitch them against each other.

Benn even mentioned that he would be waiting for Wahid to post a screenshot of his conversation with Hearn.

Benn prediction soon came to fruition as Wahid posted a screenshot of his conversation with Hearn on social media, expressing his desire for the matchup. Meanwhile, Benn mentioned that he has no interest in fighting Chris Eubank Jr (33-3, 24 KOs) and wanted to focus on Davis.

“I’m Perfectly Relaxed”

It sure looks like Benn’s enthusiasm got the best of Wahid.

In a tweet, he asked Benn to calm down while he tried to work with Hearn on figuring out the potential fight. Benn, however, was quick to respond. “I’m perfectly relaxed. I’m just eager to see if your all talk. Hopefully, your boss, uncle Al, will let you come out and play,” he wrote.
