‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) is least worried about the possibility of his fight against boxing legend Mike Tyson (50-6-2, 44 KOs) getting rescheduled once again. The YouTuber turned boxer was initially scheduled to fight ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ on July 20. However, the fight had to be rescheduled after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up. With a revised date of November 15 and AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, all prepped up for the fight, Paul is confident that Tyson will make it to their showdown. In fact, he even revealed that he doesn’t even have a backup opponent in case the fight plan goes downhill.
“I don’t have a concern. He’s doing great. He’s super healthy behind the scenes and feeling great. So that’s what we’re focused on, and there’s not a backup currently,” Paul said while talking to TMZ Sports. Paul feels that the “big and beefy and thick and strong” Tyson is at the peak of his health. And even quoted that boxing aficionados, including UFC champ Francis Ngannou, had quoted a knockout victory for Tyson. Moreover, he revealed that he would tread cautiously in the first few rounds and be wary of ‘Iron’ Mike’s raw punching power.
“You know, a pro fight means war, and I don’t take it lightly. You can get seriously hurt or injured in there. So, if you’re not in there to go to war, then you should just get out,” he said.
“Does Jake Paul Take A Good Shot?”
Since the fight was announced, boxing experts and fans have been pitching in on the potential outcome of the fight, and who better to give a verdict than one of Tyson’s most iconic opponents, Evander Holyfield. Talking to Fight Hub TV, Holyfield, who has previously trained with Paul, revealed that he might have a chance against Tyson if one major concern was taken care of.
“I don’t know how much confidence that Jake Paul has and all of that, but he’s gonna be a lot quicker. If he stays close to Mike, then his chance of winning is gonna be great, but if he tries to stay back from Mike, he’s gonna get caught,” he said. “The point about it is, does Jake Paul take a good shot? I never seen him get hit by nobody. That’s it. It may be over ’cause he ain’t probably never fought nobody that punch like Mike.”
