Is Oleksandr Usyk Planning To Become The Next Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) might just become the next big thing in Hollywood.

The Ukrainian is fresh off two consecutive victories against the ‘Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs). While there have been talks about his retirement, Usyk recently made his entry into Hollywood with an appearance in Dwayne Johnson’s The Smashing Machine, and it looks like he may have a potential career path in mind.

In conversation with Al Arabiya, Usyk revealed that he has a few fights left in him before hanging up his gloves for good. Moreover, his next plan of action will be to unite his belts with IBF champion Daniel Dubois.

“We want to fight Dubois. My team is ready. A lot depends on how God will give us a way to do it, and the second person who can do it is His Excellency Turki Alalshikh because he is the person who can organize this fight. I think there would be obstacles otherwise,” he said. As the question of retirement loomed, he was asked about his Hollywood debut and if he plans on becoming the next Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Notably, based on the life of MMA fighter Mark Kerr, the movie will see Johnson playing the title role while Usyk plays the role of Ukrainian mixed martial artist Igor Vovchanchyn.

“I don’t think I will be the next Arnold Schwarzenegger,” he said while confessing that he is not (yet) at the level of Hollywood’s favourite action star. “I’m not a solid, but I practice acting. I would like to be in acting. I see myself in a dramatic role.”

“I’d Be Interested”

Meanwhile, there is yet another fight on Usyk’s mind. He has teased that his farewell fight would be against UFC champ Alex Pereira.

“Yes, I’d be interested in that, but only after my fight against Daniel Dubois for all the belts,” he said. “We’re even considering a fight in the cage. It’s a joke, but as they say, every joke has some truth to it.” The UFC cage or the silver screen, Usyk is certainly keeping the fan’s plates full.
