Jack Catterall (29-1, 13 KOs) is confident he is up for a challenging fight against Regis Prograis (29-2, 24 KOs).
The English boxer is gearing up to face the ‘Rougarou’ from New Orleans in a 12-round junior welterweight bout at Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England on October 26. Prograis is coming to the fight after his loss against Devin Haney. With the fight quickly approaching, Catterall revealed that he is looking forward to an interesting fight against an invigorated Prograis.
“I think if you look at Regis now, his last two performances have probably been below par. I think that the Regis I’m fighting next is probably a hungry and driven Regis. That’s what I’m excited for, the fact that he’s been world champion twice, and he’s hungry to become a three-time world champion,” he said in a press release. Catterall further mentioned that Prograis lost his bet during his last fight. And that he is looking forward to this fight to get back on track and get a win. Catterall added that this motivated version of Prograis gives him the drive to perform his best.

Meanwhile, he stated that he believes he can perform well against Prograis’ style.
“Regis’s style suits me; he’s a lot slower on his feet. I think with Regis, he carries a lot of power, but I think my defense is too good, and I think I can pick holes in him. When I beat Regis Prograis I don’t know what options are left for him. He’s had his time in the sun – two-time world champion. I think it’s a difficult road back,” he said.
“We Don’t Have The Same Resume”

Meanwhile, Prograis is of the opinion that Catterall is not a fighter of his caliber. Talking to DAZN, he revealed that he was, however, not treating the fight as a step-down. “I know I fought better fighters, and that’s no disrespect to him. You look at my resume. Me and him, we don’t have the same resume. We don’t have the same resume. I was top of the world two times already,” he said.
Prograis added that Catterall has not yet become a world champion and that the only thing that he has going for him was the victory against Josh Taylor. “Obviously, I’m not treating it like a step down because there’s a lot of pressure on me and there’s a lot of pressure on him,” he said.
