Arizona has become a hotbed for Top Rank boxing, and they once again return there for a Friday night card live at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale. 27-year-old super middleweight Jaime Munguia (43-1, 34 KOs) returns to action as he comes off a May unanimous decision loss to Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. He now faces the undefeated Erik Bazinyan (32-0-1, 23 KOs) in a scheduled 12-round fight, as the winner can potentially move on to a mega fight with Christian Mbilli next year.

This will be the third fight for Munguia this year, which is something he has not accomplished since 2022. Munguia gave a strong effort in May against Canelo, but it wasn’t enough to get the victory over Canelo, who is still the king of the division. Since then, he signed a new deal with Top Rank and the idea is to get him on a path towards another world title opportunity. In his way will be Bazinyan, who last fought in May and fought to a split draw with Shakeel Phinn. This will also be Bazinyan’s third fight this year, so both men will come to the ring without any ring rust. Who will come out on top?
