With the last quarter of the boxing schedule being a little light, an informal announcement was made on Wednesday for an exhibition fight between Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis (30-0-1, 28 KOs).
In the early morning hours on Wednesday, a fight poster that showed Paul vs. Davis leaked via a Turkish Netflix account. The RING’s Mike Coppinger later posted on X, “Jake Paul will face Gervonta Davis on November 15 at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena in an exhibition on Netflix; sources confirm to The Ring. Talks for Paul to face Anthony Joshua collapsed over network issues. Paul’s last fight took place at 200 pounds, while Davis is a champion at 135.”
Although Coppinger is reporting that the fight will take place in Atlanta, GA, on November 15, Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder and CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, went on X and posted a message of his own. “Amazing how ‘sources’ have it confirmed but have it wrong.” This leads fans to believe that either part of the announcement is untrue or that Paul isn’t fighting Davis at all. Paul has not responded to any of the Davis fight news, which leads me to believe that there are details that still have to be ironed out to make an official announcement.
While the world awaits the official news from MVP (Most Valuable Promotions), PBC (Premier Boxing Champions), Netflix, or all three, social media has gone nuclear on the thought that Paul, a cruiserweight, will be facing Davis, a lightweight, in an exhibition. Some are saying it’s going to be a mega event, while others feel as though Davis should have faced Lamont Roach Jr. in the much-anticipated rematch. Roach recently said that he didn’t feel confident that the Davis rematch would happen, and when seeing the reports of Paul-Davis, he posted on X, “Told ya lol (with a duck emoji next to it).”
Here are some of the tweets on X after news broke on Paul-Davis for November.

Will Tank be given the 8×2 round treatment like Iron Mike? We will get headgear? Official Prime Energy round breaks? Will we get a first look of the fighters entering the arena brought to you by OnlyFans? A lot of questions brewing. https://t.co/H50JFvOk4e

Regardless of the date and venue, Paul vs. Davis looks to be heading for the last quarter of the year. The exhibition rules would still need to be explained, but this event could be huge if it’s featured on Netflix. Not because the hardcore fans want to see it, but because it attracts the causal audience who only care about name recognition. It will no doubt be a circus but when it’s fight night, will you be tuning in? I will assume that the answer is a big “Yes.”
