The Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) vs. Israel Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) fight card is all set to showcase a spectacle with a host of undercards that has gotten the boxing community talking. And nothing has caused a buzz like the Andy Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs) vs. Jarrell Miller (26-1-1, 22) showdown. As Ruiz gears up to make a comeback after an almost two-year-long hiatus, Miller has vowed to “demolish” any attempt at victory.
Miller was recently in conversation with DAZN’s Off the Cuff. During the interview, he was asked if Ruiz was the most challenging opponent he had faced yet.
“Every fight is the most difficult you know what I mean?” Miller responded. “It’s the most difficult fight in my career because it’s the next one that’s in front of me. It either makes you or breaks you. He (Ruiz) took opportunities that I lost and made millions with it. Now it’s my turn to come back to the top.”
He further stated that Ruiz has statistically not done well with fighters who are taller than him, and neither does he do well against opponents who move around a lot or aggressively throw a lot of punches. Miller mentioned that these were factors that he believes will work in his favor during the fight.
“He fought Ortiz who was really prob 48 years old. He got a close decision win against him, couldn’t put him away…These guys I’d knock out,” he said. “I’m in tip-top shape. So, the main thing for me coming to top shape is I don’t win close fights. I beat guys up; I knock them out, or I just demolish them. And that’s what we’re gonna do with Andy.”
“I Got An Answer For Him”
Miller is also extremely confident in his game plan for the Ruiz fight. In fact, during the interview, he even mentioned that he was ready for the fight regardless of what Ruiz has up his sleeve. “Andy said I’m going to come in shape and do my best. I’m knocking him the f**k down,” he said. “Just being myself man. Sticking with the jab and hurt him. No matter what Andy does, man, I got an answer for him.” The Miller vs Ruiz heavyweight showdown will take place at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on August 3, 2024.
