Boxing is back in Texas as the WBC and Ring Magazine super flyweight champion Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez (21-0, 14 KOs) faces WBO champion Phumelela Cafu (11-0-3, 8 KOs) in a unification bout live at the Ford Center in Frisco, TX, live on DAZN.
The card headlined by Rodriguez vs. Cafu is one of three on Saturday, which will keep boxing fans busy throughout the day and night. This fight will be the first for Rodriguez this year after scoring a third-round TKO over Pedro Guevara in November. Rodriguez already has another unification bout lined up for November in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, if he can get past Cafu.
The WBO champion Cafu is coming off a massive win over Kosei Tanaka in October, which has forced the latter to retire from the sport due to a severe eye injury. Cafu snuck up on everyone’s radar and could earn another big victory on Saturday, which would replace Rodriguez’s name with his against WBA champion Fernando ‘Puma’ Martinez.
Who will come out on top in this huge super flyweight unification main event on DAZN?
