Joe Rogan Feels Jake Paul Might Make Anthony Joshua ‘More Dangerous’

Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) is all set to silence haters by facing a “real boxer” on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami. However, this fight against Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) also comes with an interesting weight and rehydration clause. While Paul and his team might be confident in their decision, podcaster Joe Rogan believes that this might pave the way for Paul’s downfall.

Talking on his Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Rogan brushed off both the weight restriction and the rehydration clause.

“That’s nothing. And there is some sort of a rehydration clause. Listen kids, it ain’t gonna matter,” he said. “There’s not a chance that Anthony Joshua is not going to lose the weight beforehand. He’s not gonna come in drained.”

Notably, according to the weight restriction. AJ will not be allowed to weigh more than 245 pounds. This is a lot lower than the weight that Joshua fights in, with his recent appearance against Daniel Dubois seeing him come in at 252.5 lb.

Paul, on the other hand, came in his career’s biggest when fighting Mike Tyson, coming in at 227.2 lb against the legend.

However, this weight restriction and the rehydration clause are certain to backfire on Paul, or so says Rogan. In fact, he feels it will also make him much more lethal.

“What he’s gonna do is he’s gonna do extra cardio. And that’s gonna make him more dangerous,” he said. “He’s going to be terrifying, and he’s going to have a lot to prove. He’s going to be angry that Jake Paul wants to fight him and very upset.”

“He’s Not Mucking Around”

Joshua isn’t making excuses about the weight and rehydration, says promoter Eddie Hearn. Talking to the Stomping Ground, Hearn revealed that Joshua is keeping a focused mindset ahead of the fight.

“He’s not mucking around here. He’s not going to me, ‘Do you believe this guy? What a joker,” he said. “He’s got to make weight as well this time around. He’ll want to look good and do a job on him. A lot of people are talking about how the weight of boxing is on his shoulders. So, he’s taking this very seriously, and that’s a problem for Mr. Paul. A lot of people are talking about him having a chance. I don’t think he’s got a chance.”
