Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 3 Live Round-By-Round Updates & Scoring

Round 1: Both fighters were very hesitant while throwing out their respective jabs. Serrano landed a straight left at the end of the round which was the best punch in the round. There were a lot of foot feints as they fought from a distance.

Score: 10-9 Serrano

Round 2: The second round was a duplicate of the first. Not much action between Serrano and Taylor. Serrano did lead with the right jab more and followed it with a quick check left hook. Taylor landed a straight right hand but Serrano was the aggressor in the round.

Score: 10-9 Serrano

Round 3: Taylor landed a good two punch combination early in the round but Serrano was stalking her while throwing a right jab. Taylor landed a hard three punch combination on the inside with seconds left in the round.

Score: 10-9 Taylor

Round 4: Taylor began dictating the pace of the fight more in the fourth round as she was catching Serrano with a straight right hand coming in. Serrano was too far out for her lead jab and straight left to land.

Score: 10-9 Taylor

Round 5: Again, Serrano was the aggressor but from a position too far out where her punches were not landing. The more effective punches were thrown by Taylor.

Score: 10-9 Taylor

Round 6: Serrano had a better round as she was on the front foot and landing her combinations from mid range. Taylor stumbled from a Serrano jab at the end of the round.

Score: 10-9 Serrano

Round 7: Taylor picked up the pace in the seventh round and landed a few more punches than Serrano who went back to being outside of mid-range. There was a small cut under the right eye of Taylor that appeared early in the round.

Round 8: It was a tough round to score as both fighters landed big shots. Serrano connected with two overhand lefts and Taylor landed two straight right hands. The more eye catching shots were from Serrano.

Score: 10-9 Serrano

Round 9: It was another round full of feints and jabs from both fighters. Taylor landed the cleaner shots as Serrano could not connect from the distance she was fighting at.

Score: 10-9 Taylor

Round 10: Taylor came out to prove a point and clearly won the last round as Serrano was just too hesitant with her offense.

In what was a fight that was no where near the first two, Taylor won a tactical battle with the judges seeing this one 95-95 and 97-93 x2. Serrano fought from a distance that was too far out and it was mainly to protect the eye that was badly cut in their second fight. Both fighters have had a long career and deserve to do whatever they want to do next.
