Add FightsATW on GoogleJuly 21st, RENO — Let’s Get It On Promotions and the Silver Legacy Resort Casino are pleased to announce the return of world-class professional boxing on Friday, August 28th in Downtown Reno, Nevada.
Fresh off of his thrilling return home this past March, Reno’s “Biggest Lil’ Bomber” Kenny Davis Jr. aims to make another successful defense of his WBC USA lightweight title against battle-tested Matt Conway of Pittsburgh, PA in the night’s ten-round main event.
“It feels great to be defending my WBC US title again in Reno, Nevada,” says an excited Davis. “Reno is in for a treat as they will get a chance to witness firsthand the most dangerous Kenny Davis anyone has seen yet. I am ready to go to war.”
Northern Nevada’s top professional talents will be on display in what promises to be an action-packed night from bell to bell.
After successful pro debuts here in March, Carson City’s Miguel Elizondo and Reno’s Joshua Nelson will make their ring returns in separate four-round bouts.

Former amateur star “Tito” Elizondo (2-0) will be looking for win number three in a four-round super featherweight bout against an opponent to be announced.
Nelson (1-0, 1 KO) will meet Fresno, CA’s Darion Hall (1-2) in a four-round lightweight attraction.
Two of Reno’s homegrown warriors will get to make their hometown debuts in separate contests as Mario Hernandez will take on spoiler Frankie Solomon Jr. of Tampa, FL in a six-round light heavyweight bout and junior welterweight Harley Sampson will see action in a four-rounder against an opponent yet to be announced.
Carson City’s road warrior Christian Avalos will also see action in a four-round lightweight attraction, with more bouts to be announced.
After fighting away from home for the majority of his career, Reno’s Davis (16-2-1, 4 KOs) packed the Grande Exposition Hall in March and sent them home happy with an eight-round decision to successfully defend his title against rugged Orlando Zepeda.
“The majority of my fights have been on the road, so to display my skills in my backyard was a very special moment for me,” recalls Davis. “To be a part of bringing professional boxing back to Northern Nevada was a huge moment for me.”
With eyes on advancing up the rankings, Davis will take a step-up against former regional champion Matt Conway (23-5-1, 10 KOs) in what could be the toughest fight of his career to date.
“Matt Conway is game and I am expecting him to come in at his best,” says Davis. “A WBC title shot tends to bring out the best of my opponents, so I am expecting a determined Matt Conway to show up on August 28th.
I have firm belief that my skills are among the best in the world. My name belongs with the top lightweights in the world and I will demonstrate that fight night.”
First bell is at 7pm at the Grande Exposition Hall inside of the Silver Legacy Resort Casino 407 N. Virginia St. Reno, NV 89501.
Tickets are available now and can be purchased at the Silver Legacy box office or by visiting ticketmaster.com.
