Killer Kross vs. Danny Limelight Highlights FSW’s ‘Luck of the Draw’ Event In Las Vegas

At the stacked wrestling event by FSW (Future Stars of Wrestling) in Las Vegas, NV, this past weekend, one match stood out that could easily have been featured on a televised show from one of the major wrestling promotions: Killer Kross versus Danny Limelight.

The story had been brewing for weeks as Kross took offense over Limelight going into business for himself at an event supporting Chris Bey, who had suffered a terrible injury and was told he might never walk again. Bey is now walking, but Kross still felt he had a score to settle with Limelight. The first shot across the bow was from Limelight a few weeks ago, when he cut a promo on social media calling for a match with Kross at “Luck of the Draw.” Kross responded with his own promo, agreeing to the match.

On Sunday night, these two faced off in the ring, and it was quite a spectacle to watch. Right from the start, Limelight, as the ultimate heel he is, made Kross wait until he was ready to fight. This frustrated Kross, and when they finally locked up, Kross began to dominate Limelight as “Kross is going to k*ll you” chants echoed throughout the building. The match then moved outside the ring, where Kross threw Limelight into the steel rails and kept attacking him. When Kross returned to the ring to avoid a countout, Limelight remained outside and called for the bell to be rung, signaling he was finished with the match.

As Limelight walked up the ramp, he was confronted by Chris Bey. It was then when Bey told Limelight that he doesn’t determine when the match is over—that the people do—and asked to restart the match as a No DQ match. Limelight was pissed off, and Kross came up from behind and suplexed him onto the ramp. Kross grabbed him and threw Limelight back into the ring. Limelight would regain control and begin to beat down Kross, working on Kross’s leg, which was previously injured by Alex Hammerstone eight months ago.

Kross suddenly executed a German straight jacket suplex but Limelight quickly recovered and regained his momentum. Limelight then climbed to the top rope and execute a frog splash, but when he went for the cover, Kross kicked out. Kross responded with a clothesline, followed by a cutter, and finished with a corner clothesline. He then hit a doomsday followed by his finisher, this time securing the 1-2-3 count from the referee.

Kross secured the victory in a match that was made for TV. The psychology throughout the match was excellent, and the fans were fully engaged every moment. These two wrestlers are probably heading down different paths, but if there’s any way they can run it back once more, I believe the fans would really enjoy that.
