A version of the heavyweight title in the form of the WBA ‘Regular’ one will be on the line Friday as the champion Kubrat Pulev (32-3, 14 KOs) faces Murat Gassiev (32-2, 25 KOs) on Friday, December 12, live on DAZN.

The fight will be part of a two-day event hosted by the IBA, featuring the heavyweight title fight on Friday, followed by the 2025 IBA Men’s World Boxing Championship Finals. This will be Pulev’s first and only fight of the year after stepping into the ring twice in 2024, with one of those fights earning him the WBA ‘regular’ title. Gassiev last fought in August, stopping Jeremiah Milton in the sixth round of their bout. Gassiev, as the opponent, is the slight betting favorite to beat the champion on Friday, so we’ll see how this one plays out.
