Lucha Libre AAA 1/24/2026 Results & Reactions: Psycho Clown & Pagano Retain Tag Titles

The FOX/Lucha Libre AAA broadcasting partnership is now in full swing, and that means a broader show from what the English crossover audience may be used to, while the culmination of the promotion’s entire lore is rewarded in a major deal.

Penta had a huge announcement planned for the show, and it had been promoted since Guerra de Titanes, where he was supposed to wrestle with his brother Rey Fenix in the reuniting of the ‘Lucha Bros.’ They spoke about his injury and superstar boxer Canelo’s cosplaying son.

Penta mentioned it had been a decade since his Rey De Reyes win, which had a direct impact on his career. He announced that the event will now return with four qualifiers, featuring 16 superstars competing in fatal-four-ways. The winners will compete in Puebla later in the year to determine who will hold the ‘Sword of Rey de Reyes’, personally handed to them by Penta himself.

The superstar crowned ‘Rey de Reyes’ on March 14 will receive a title shot against the AAA Mega champion, Dominik Mysterio—still out with an injury.

PSYCHO CLOWN & PAGANO(c) VS MOTOR CITY MACHINE GUNS VS TOKYO BAD BOYS VS NGD– AAA Tag Team Championship Match

This match had everything as all hell eventually broke loose from what remained a fairly reserved match for the first 1/3 of the match. Chaos ensued backstage and around ringside while amazing lucha tag-style wrestling went on inside the ring.

Tokuma of the ‘Tokyo Bad Boys’ hit a shooting star press that had him floating in midair, though he did not connect enough with it to end the match at that stage. Nick Saben and Alex Shelly were in rare form, and it is incredible to see them keep up with tag team wrestling at every level and continent.

In tag team fatal four-ways, the difficulty can be closing a match with so many bodies and constant momentum changes. A Psycho Clown posse member was taken out in the backstage area during the match as the champions remained mostly quiet in the early parts of the match. However, Pagano got going with Psycho Clown, as Kento ended up on the receiving end of their offensive flurry.

The champs were able to hold on to the belts despite the chaotic nature of the match, and the clowns celebrated to the back before being made aware of the situation in the back as a member of the Psycho Clown Circus was placed in an ambulance with zero knowledge as to how it happened.

EL HIJO DE DR WAGNER JR(c) VS MECHA WOLF—AAA Latin American Championship

Before the match, the commentators set up a video package depicting the champion Dr. Wagner’s faceoff with Escobar at the last show, where the WWE superstar wore a lucha mask only to reveal himself to the crowd. Dr. Wagner’s title reign has focused around major feuds with NXT’s Ethan Page, and now it seems like Santos Escobar is calling his shot next.

Mecha Wolf, for his part, did a decent job testing the champion with his diverse set of moves, but Dr. Wagner retained the title in a short but sweet match. The champ, upon retaining, cut a promo on Santos and promised him that he would remember the message that left Dr. Wagner down on the mat.

It seems like this will be the next program for the Latin American title, and if the Page feud was any hint of what’s to come, then this will be a multi-match/multi-angle long-term booking.

LAREDO KID(c) VS OCTAGON JR VS MINI VIKINGO—AAA Cruiserweight Championship

Tonight’s show opened with this spot-fest triple threat match featuring terrific superstars that should be familiar to English-speaking audiences who have crossed the Lucha bridge, specifically the champ Laredo Kid and Octagon Jr. However, Mini Vikingo, the 17-year-old brother of former Mega titlist Vikingo.

During the match, big bro was seen watching from a monitor in the back as his brother nailed a Tope Con Hilo in one of the most impressive spots all year. Mini Vikingo also took some big bumps from Octagon Jr., but the young upstart had the respect of the fans. His small frame and lightning-quick moves make him a no-brainer when it comes to star potential.

Laredo Kid managed to retain his title with a Spanish Fly off the top turnbuckle high-spot onto Mini Vikingo. It was a great debut for the teenage superstar, making his debut on a stage of this nature. Fortunately for him, and despite coming up short in the title match, Mini Vikingo nailed his debut and could have some serious upside, especially in this, the WWE/AAA era.
