After weeks of speculation, an official announcement has been made that WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios (29-2-2, 18 KOs) will defend his title against Ryan Garcia (27-1, 19 KOs) on February 21 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV, exclusively on DAZN PPV. This event is also available as part of the DAZN Ultimate subscription, including all PPVs in 2026.
The event is titled ‘The Ring: High Stakes’ and will be promoted by TGB Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions.
The champion Barrios is coming off a majority draw with Manny Pacquiao in July, while Garcia suffered a unanimous decision loss to WBA welterweight champion Rolando Romero in May. It’ll be interesting to see how this fight unfolds, considering both fighters are coming off performances that left something to be desired.

Barrios said: “Becoming WBC welterweight world champion was more than a moment—it was a promise to my family, my city, and everyone who believed in the grind when no one was watching. San Antonio built me, and every sacrifice I’ve made comes with me into that ring. This is my division, my time, and I’m ready to show the world why the WBC title stays right here.”
Garcia said: “I will be World Champion on February 21st.”
