Michael Chandler (23-8, 11 KOs) has long been eyeing a main-event fight with UFC superstar Conor McGregor (22-6, 19 KOs). And with no signs of a potential fight between the duo, it sure looks like the former three-time Bellator lightweight champion is working on a new strategy to entice ‘Notorious’ into a fight.
‘Iron’ Chandler was recently in attendance at WWE Raw, which took place at the Honda Centre in Anaheim, California. This was the latest in the line of athlete appearances after WWE’s acquisition by UFC’s parent company Endeavor in September, forming a new brand named TKO. Meanwhile, WWE superstar CM Punk also attended UFC 298 at the same venue on Saturday.
During the event, ring announcer Samantha Irvin announced Chandler to the crowd. This was when he took the microphone from her to address the audience.

“What’s up, Anaheim?!? You are now in the presence of the most entertaining UFC fighter on the planet!” Chandler shouted in his iconic tone.
He further proceeded to call out McGregor. “Hey, now there’s a man from Ireland who’s been making me wait way too long, and I still have got one dude on my mind,” he said. “Conor McGregor, get your candy ass back to the octagon! We’ve got some unfinished business, boys! God bless, and I’ll see you at the top!”
Chandler was last seen at UFC 281 in 2022, where he lost to Dustin Poirier (29-8-1, 14 KOs) via submission. There have been talks about his UFC return after they were coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 31 in early 2023. McGregor later announced his comeback fight against Chandler will take place on June 29, 2024.
Will Conor McGregor “show up to sh*t”?
UFC President Dana White, on the other hand, revealed that there is no tentative date for the fight or talks about the same. White mentioned that McGregor is financially sound and has a lot of prior obligations.
“Getting Conor to show up to sh*t on time is a problem. But Conor, as far as the business goes, everybody talks about how Conor used to be on the dole and all this stuff,” he said in an interview. “For a guy that was on the dole, Conor McGregor is a very good businessman, and Conor McGregor has always been a great partner to us.”
