WBA Gold bantamweight champion Muhammad ‘Falcon’ Waseem will have his second straight fight in his native Pakistan when he collides with Jakrawut Manjungoen in the main event of the International Boxing Night – Chapter 2 at the MISA Cannt Lahore at the WBA Peace Convention on November 29th.
Waseem (14-2, 10 KOs) had never graced his country with a professional appearance until he defeated Wiston Orono with a 9th round stoppage in May. Now with the support of his country, Waseem and his team will look to make fighting in Pakistan a regular fixture.
“I’m very excited and proud to be fighting back in Pakistan,” Waseem said. “My last fight was in my home city of Quetta. This time I’ll be fighting in Lahore and I’m just incredibly grateful to the government in Punjab for helping make this happen and the government of Pakistan for giving me this opportunity.”
Currently ranked in 13th place by the WBA, Waseem will look to have a third swipe at claiming a world title having previously fell short to Moruti Mthalane and Sunny Edwards for a world championship at flyweight.

“I’ve been training Waz for eight now,” Danny Vaughan added, who also spearheads Falcon Sporting Promotions. “I get a lot of videos sent to me from young Pakistani boxers and the potential is very high for the country. What we are doing with Falcon Sporting Promotions is to give the kids a platform. We are looking for the next Muhammad Waseem at the moment! This is deal we have done with the Pakistan government, to bring world champions to Pakistan.”
Waseem has the chance to become Pakistan’s first world champion if he can continue his form into 2026 and rise up the WBA rankings, where the bantamweight world champion is Antonio Vargas.
“I’ve been ranked at number 1 in the world many times,” Waseem explained. “I’ve now got the WBA Gold belt and will defend the title in Lahore. It will great opportunity for me to get in the ring and prove myself again.”
Vaughan added: “The world is his oyster. We’ve been promised a world title shot next year in March or April. He’s put a lot into his career and what he is doing for Pakistan boxing is incredible. He will become a world champion next year.”
