MVP Provides an Update on Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis And It Doesn’t Look Good

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) issued a statement on Saturday afternoon regarding their November 14 event on Netflix between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis. If you were someone looking forward to the event, then this latest update by MVP is not what you want to hear.

The statement by MVP says the following:

Most Valuable Promotions immediately initiated an investigation upon learning of the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County on October 30th, 2025.

At this time, we are gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure any decision we make is thoroughly vetted. We unequivocally condemn any form of violence and are committed to handling this matter with diligence and respect for all involved.

We will make a determination on next steps once we have completed our review and consulted with the appropriate parties. Until then, we will not be commenting further.”

This follows a series of posts on X by SI’s own Chris Mannix, who first reported that MVP was considering other opponents due to the civil suit against Davis that was filed earlier in the week. In that suit, there are allegations of domestic violence by Davis, which was enough for MVP and likely Netflix as well to reconsider hosting this event on November 14. The lack of buzz and ticket sales for the event could have also influenced MVP’s decision to go in another direction.

This event has faced its share of issues, starting with the original location in Atlanta, GA. Due to significant weight differences, the commission was not going to approve hosting the event in Georgia. The event was then moved to Florida, where there were no issues, and they would also appoint two judges for the fight. Now, with the latest civil suit against Davis, MVP must make some tough but quick decisions regarding the event.

As for Paul, with less than two weeks before fight night, the chances of finding a last-minute replacement are slim, so a new date and opponent for December are likely. FightsATW will continue to follow this story as it unfolds.
