The numbers are in, and Jake Paul (12-2, 7 KOs) vs. Anthony Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) averaged 33 million live viewers globally at Friday’s event, which streamed live on Netflix, the streaming company announced on Tuesday.
The fight that saw Paul being KO’d by Joshua in the sixth round of their fight also saw huge numbers on social media, with the following stats:
“Jake vs. Joshua generated 1.25 billion impressions across Netflix’s global social channels. The fight was a top trending topic on X worldwide, trending #1 in the US, UK, and Brazil.
“This slow-motion clip of Anthony Joshua knocking out Jake Paul is now the highest performing clip from a Netflix live event ever, with more than 214 million impressions across Netflix social channels.”

Other stats that were made available were that the event reached “Netflix’s Top 10 in 91 countries and ranked #1 in 45 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Australia, Mexico, and Argentina.”
The co-main between Alycia Baumgardner and Leila Beaudoin drew an estimated “15 million Live +1 viewers globally,” giving those two women the biggest exposure they have ever received.
There is no question that Netflix must be happy with the event’s performance, but the question is whether they got their money’s worth when it came up short of surpassing Terence Crawford’s dominant victory over Canelo Alvarez in September, which reached 41 million globally. Regardless, the event still drew big numbers, and that is good for boxing if they want to keep having a platform like Netflix putting on shows for its global audience.
