Netflix Announced That They Are Now The Official Home of The WWE PLE Library In The U.S.

Fresh off WWE kicking the new year with their Stranger Things edition of Monday Night RAW, the international wrestling company announced that their streaming partner Netflix will be the exclusive home of their Premium Live Events (PLEs) library in the U.S.

This is big news for WWE, but it also shows how they are consistently expanding what they have and evolving their media rights strategy to maximize profits. After signing an exclusive deal with Peacock in March 2021 for the entire WWE library and live PLEs, WWE began looking for new deals since that agreement expires on December 31, 2025. They moved their live PLEs to the ESPN App a few months before the deal’s end and have now transferred the PLE library to Netflix in the U.S. NXT, its PLEs, and special events remain on Peacock for now.

The press release states the following:

Beginning immediately, Netflix is the new U.S. home for WWE’s library of Premium Live Events (prior to September 2025) including WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble, as well as award-winning documentaries and original programming.

“This follows the January 2025 launch of WWE on Netflix, where Monday Night Raw has become a weekly staple in the global English Top 10. Past episodes of Monday Night Raw are also available as part of the WWE library on Netflix.

“The arrival of WWE’s library on Netflix also comes ahead of Season 2 of original behind-the-scenes documentary series WWE: Unreal on January 20.”

This new deal allows WWE to still shop the rest of the library, which includes content from WCW, ECW, old territory wrestling promotions, and exclusive docuseries. Regardless of how people feel about WWE, they have changed their approach to media rights deals, creating more revenue from various agreements rather than, as Vince McMahon did for years, dedicating most of their assets to a single partner.

There is always the fear of being spread too thin, but as TKO has mentioned in past interviews through their executives, they want their return on investment now and not later. Only time will tell if TKO’s drive to recoup their investment affects the fans who make these deals possible. For now, the WWE keeps winning in every way possible.
