Netflix Announced Tyson Fury vs. Arslanbek Makhmudov Streaming Live on April 11

Netflix officially announced the return of “The Gypsy King” on Wednesday. Former WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) will fight Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-2, 19 KOs) on April 11 at a location to be announced soon.

After rumors swirling since the beginning of the year about who could be Fury’s opponent, Eye of the Tiger’s Makhmudov is the one who gets the golden ticket and the opportunity of a lifetime on a global streaming service like Netflix. It’ll be interesting to see the shoulder programming that Netflix produces for this event, as Makhmudov has been known to do wild things like wrestle with bears. Add that to Fury’s already unpredictable lifestyle, and you have must-see programming. On the horizon for Fury is a potential domestic blockbuster with Anthony Joshua in September, but he must first beat Makhmudov to reach that fight.

For those who aren’t familiar with Makhmudov, a 36-year-old from Mozdok, Russia, he’s on a two-fight winning streak, with his last victory being an upset decision over David Allen, according to betting odds. The 6’5” Makhmudov isn’t the most elusive fighter, but he’s not a pushover and will give Fury a tough fight.

In a press release sent out by Eye of the Tiger, Makhmudov said, “I am thrilled about the opportunity. I’m coming to deliver a War. Tyson Fury has been a big champion. I will be more ready than ever to leave with a massive W.

Eye of the Tiger president Camille Estephan added, “We’re not going to England just to show up. We’re going there to do everything possible to seize this opportunity.”

So there you have it, Fury vs. Makhmudov will stream live on Netflix on April 11 and will be the next event hosted by the streaming platform. Will this fight be a mistake for Fury or just the right opponent to prepare him for Joshua? The countdown begins for Fury-Makhmudov.
