The legendary Manny Pacquiao will return to the ring on April 18 for an exhibition at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, NV.
Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 KOs) will face former world champion Ruslan Provodnikov (25-5-18 KOs) in a scheduled ten-round bout at welterweight, according to a press release sent out on Tuesday night. Pacquiao last fought in July against WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios, resulting in a majority draw. Provodnikov is 42, with his last professional fight taking place in June 2016 against John Molina Jr., where he lost via unanimous decision.
“I carry the Philippines with me every time I fight,” said Manny Pacquiao. “The support from my country and from fans around the world continues to inspire me. Returning to Las Vegas means so much to me, and I’m excited to work with a team focused on creating a world-class experience for the fans. I’m coming back to give them a great fight — and I’m ready.”

The promoter on record for the event is Indistry and their COO had this to say. “This is a defining moment for Indistry,” said Erroll Angara, Co-Founder of Indistry. “Manny Pacquiao vs. Ruslan Provodnikov on April 18 represents more than a marquee matchup — it signals our formal entry into the fight world and the direction we are headed as a company. We are proud to usher in a new standard of premier boxing events that unite elite competition with elevated fan experiences worthy of the moment and the legacy.”
The fight being in Las Vegas will face tough competition for attention as WWE hosts WrestleMania that weekend at Allegiant Stadium, making everything more difficult, from hotel reservations to flights. Will there be a lot of interest from boxing fans for this matchup? Will it be on PPV? All of these questions will be answered in the coming weeks.
