Riyadh Season has brought boxing to some of the most unique venues since entering the sport, and Saturday is no different, as they host a heavyweight title fight from the Pyramids in Cairo, Egypt, live on DAZN. Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) will defend his WBC & WBA titles against kickboxing legend Rico Verhoeven (1-0, 1 KO) in a scheduled 12-round fight.

This is a unique bout for Usyk, who has never competed in a fantasy matchup-type fight, but he wanted this one, so they made it happen. On the horizon is a potential third fight with Tyson Fury and one or two other fights. Usyk’s time in boxing is almost over, so if you’ve never seen him fight, there will be fewer than a handful of opportunities left to do so. Verhoeven is a knockout artist in kickboxing but has little experience in pro boxing. He does have a puncher’s chance, but Usyk is too skilled to be hit cleanly by someone with far less experience. Weirder things have happened in boxing.
