Former two-division champion Oscar Valdez (32-3, 24 KOs) and his opponent, Ricky Medina (16-3, 9 KOs) both made weight on Friday afternoon in Mexico. The fight card, which Zanfer Boxing is hosting, will stream live on ESPN Deportes in the States on Saturday night.
Valdez is the 12-1 betting favorite as this looks to be a stay-busy fight for him after being stopped by Emmanuel Navarrete in December. The 34-year-old Valdez still feels like he can compete at a high level, so Saturday’s fight will either prove that or make him question whether he should retire at this point in his career.
