It can be said that over the past few years, Jake Paul (11-1, 7 KOs) has done a considerable amount of work in making the sport of boxing a household name and drawing in crowds with some intriguing and often questionable matchups. While he has his horde of supporters, many consider him an overrated athlete. However, there is one thing that ‘The Problem Child’ has been rather consistent in: stirring the pot, and his recent controversial list of overrated athletes might just have given his haters some direly needed fuel.
In a video doing rounds on Betr’s Instagram account, Paul nonchalantly put out some big names while going down his list of overrated athletes.
“These are all facts, Babe Ruth, overrated. Trevor Lawrence overpaid and overrated. This is going to piss off a lot of people, Ronaldo,” he said.
One can only assume that this is one of Paul’s usual rage baits and not a serious list. Ruth, aka ‘The Sultan of Swat,’ is widely regarded as one of the cultural icons of American sports and is considered by many to be the greatest baseball player of all time. With a colossal 714 home runs to his name, one can only wonder how Paul could consider him an overrated athlete.

Bringing in the names of well-loved athletes like Lawrence and Cristiano Ronaldo was certain to spark protests from fans. While he also named Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Anthony Edwards, and Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to his list, combat sports athletes were not exempt from his wrath.
According to his list, Paul also believes that Conor McGregor, Ryan Garcia, Canelo Alvarez, and Anthony Joshuaare overrated athletes.
The Expected Backlash

Social media users were quick to respond to his list, calling him out for his rather unreasonable list. Many even felt that he should have included himself in the list.
A user wrote, “This list would’ve hit if he threw himself in there towards the end.” The other commenters were quick to agree, with some even threatening to uninstall Betr for giving Paul the platform to reveal his list.
