Paris Fury has also made a lot of sacrifices ahead of the Usyk vs Fury fight.
In a few days, ‘The Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) will test his mettle, once again, against Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) during their rematch at Riyadh Season’s Reignited. While it is a known fact that boxers make a lot of sacrifices during training camp. It looks like Fury took it up a notch. In fact, he revealed that it had been a few months since he had spoken to his family.
“I’ll be flying home for Christmas. Plenty of eggnog and mince pies and turkeys and all that,” Fury said while talking to Dev Sahni. “I wish it was tonight, and I was going home in the morning. It’s been a long camp. Been away from my wife and kids for three months. I’ve not spoken to Paris at all in three months, not one word.” He mentioned that he had sacrificed a lot for the fight and is confident that it will all turn out to be worthwhile in the end.
On the other hand, Fury’s wife, Paris, wrote on social media that people do not see the sacrifices she has made as the wife of a boxer.“People don’t see the sacrifices made. I’ve let him solely concentrate on this fight. It seems like he’s been gone forever, especially with no contact, but if it’s what he needs,” she said. With the fight date just around the corner, it also looks like Fury will reunite with his family in Riyadh. Paris Fury recently shared a selfie with their son, Prince John James, as they traveled in a private jet to Saudi Arabia to watch the Usyk vs Fury showdown.
“I Don’t Think Boxing As A Thing Is My Biggest Victory”
While he is considered one of the top names in the heavyweight division and boxing, Fury believes that boxing is not his biggest asset. As he gears up for one of the most anticipated rematches of his career, he gave a heartfelt talk about the lessons he learned in life.
“I don’t think boxing as a thing is my biggest victory,” he said while talking to Ade Oladipo. “I’ve come back from suicide; I’ve come back from the depths of despair. To go in there and get paid a tonne of money to do a boxing match with some clown, it’s child’s play compared to what I have to go through.”
