Paul Heyman At RAW on Netflix Kickoff Show: ‘It’s About Who Is The Real Tribal Chief’

The WWE held a RAW on Netflix kickoff earlier in the week, and it was like the February WrestleMania kickoff in Las Vegas, NV, as the company’s stars came out to cement the storyline for the Netflix debut on January 6 and beyond. With the RAW on Netflix debuting in LA, this night already feels like a big momentum shift for the WWE, which is looking to build upon its young stars and make them into potential future legends.

WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque kicked things off in a promo video package leading into the debut of RAW on Netflix. As soon as the video package ended, Michael Cole, the host of the kickoff event, introduced himself in front of a few hundred fans at the WWE Headquarters in Hartford, CT. Cole credits the fans for making the move to Netflix possible before bringing Triple H to the stage. Triple H echoes Cole’s comments and introduces RAW GM Adam Pierce to the stage. Now that all the pieces were in place, the kickoff show began.

Logan Paul Is The Future of RAW on Netflix

It’s been a good couple of months for the Paul family on Netflix as Jake took on Mike Tyson in November and shattered all of the viewing records and the servers streaming the event. Obviously, Netflix is thrilled with the result even though it exposed its technical limits at the time. Logan Paul has been off WWE TV for some months but was introduced as the first wrestler of the kickoff program.

It’s no secret that Netflix wants to ride the success of his brother Jake with Logan on RAW, which is why he was featured on this kickoff show. Logan addressed the elephant in the room, which is the exhibition fight against Conor McGregor and the call out by Mike Tyson. “A payday with a Paul brother is a bucket list payday for all of these washed-up fighters,” said Logan. This quote will stir up social media even more in weeks to come as a fight with Tyson or McGregor would get worldwide attention.

Aside from that, the WWE appears to be thrilled with how far Logan has come in such a short period of time, from the in-ring performance to his ability to cut a promo. The WWE has been following trends and social media more now than ever, so making Logan the WWE champion in 2025 looks like the type of booking that can translate into big profits.

Playing into his heel character, Paul said, “I’m not here to take part; I’m here to takeover. Your approval means nothing to me.” Of course, the fans reacted to that, with Logan maintaining a smug look on his face. Paul ended the promo with a big statement. “You are looking at the future WWE world champion, and his name is Logan Paul.” Something tells me we should believe him and that in 2025, he will have gold around his waist.

Paul Heyman Sets The Table For Tribal Combat

When it came to the second to last segment, The New Bloodline was introduced, with Solo Sikoa leading the way. Sikoa will face Roman Reigns in a Tribal Combat (No Rules) match on Netflix, and this will be the match that not only sets the story for WrestleMania but also for the rest of 2025. Sikoa went into his schtick about being acknowledged and then was interrupted by Paul Heyman.

Heyman wasted no time to get to his point. “Here’s what’s happening on January 6 on Netflix,” said Heyman. “There can only be one Tribal Chief. Now in my mind and the minds of the island of relevancy that stands before you today (pointing at the fans in attendance), that Tribal Chief is the OTC Roman Reigns.” After saying that, Heyman gives Sikoa his respect and acknowledges him for standing up to Reigns and everything he has done up to this point. Heyman then says it’s not about the family lineage, and it will come down to Solo and Roman on January 6. Heyman ends his promo by saying “It’s about who is the Real Tribal Chief,” and walks off the stage.

This feels like a match that will involve The Final Boss, and with John Cena also being scheduled to appear, this is the can’t miss event of 2025, only a few days into the new year.

Seth Rollins & CM Punk Is The Perfect Rivalry For Netflix

For months, FightsATW said that Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk would be saved for Netflix. That is exactly what the WWE has done here, and their matchup will also be on the first episode of RAW on Netflix. CM Punk came out first, and after discussing the highs and lows of his career, he said “I honestly think if I never came back that I had a good career.”

That’s when Seth Rollins interrupted him, and things got really heated between them. Rollins would come out and say, “Welcome back to the house that I built.” This is when the two began shoving each other and exchanging pleasantries. The promo wasn’t long, but it was just enough to keep the fire going on in their story.

Look for this one to get nastier with the promos and for them to blend more reality with the story so that it keeps the fans wanting to see more of it.

Other Tidbits

RAW GM Adam Pierce made Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley for RAW on Netflix with the Women’s World title on the line. Speaking of world titles, Kevin Owens popped up on the program with Cody Rhodes’ new Eagle WWE world title. He mentioned that he will be in Jacksonville, FL, on December 26 and will walk in with the WWE title. Shortly after, his mic was cut off, and he was escorted out of the building.
