We are about a month away from the WBC junior middleweight title fight between champion Sebastian Fundora and Keith Thurman at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV, broadcast live on pay-per-view. As we approach the March 28 fight, Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) premiered Gloves Off in preparation for the event, and PPV.com announced the PPV purchase price.
With the undercard recently announced, which includes Frank Sanchez, Richard Torrez Jr., Yoenli Hernandez, Terrell Gausha, Elijah Garcia, and Kevin Newman, PPV.com posted on their site that the fight will cost $74.99 on their platform. This price is likely the same if purchased on Prime Video. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, as that was the same price point set for the original fight date.
PBC released their Gloves Off episode on Saturday, with a runtime of 16:56. There wasn’t much new to take away since it was mostly things we’ve already seen and heard from both fighters. Thurman carried the show with his sarcasm, while Fundora stayed quieter but with a subtly sinister tone that we don’t often see elsewhere. Thurman, being a man of many words, said toward the end of the show, “It’s Mona Lisa; I’m going to paint a masterpiece.”
It’ll be interesting to see how this fight unfolds and whether Fundora truly meets his match against Thurman or if the older, less active fighter can’t “chop the tree” down.
Here is an excerpt from a PBC press release to build anticipation for the March 28 bout between Fundora and Thurman.
“Few boxers have had a more satisfying two-year run than California native Sebastian Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs). The reigning WBC Super Welterweight Champion, Fundora is putting his title on the line versus a fighter who excels in the international spotlight. Keith Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs) soared through the welterweight ranks, unifying the titles at 147 pounds. Now, the seasoned Clearwater, FL native is making his first bid for a 154-pound title against a red-hot fighter in his prime.”
