Raza Hamza Begins New Chapter In Pakistan on November 27

Raza Hamza is to begin a new chapter in his career with a headline slot in his ancestral home of Pakistan.

Hamza (18-2-1, 7 KOs) will square-off with Richman Ashelley for the WBA Asia South lightweight title in Lahore, Pakistan on November 27th in his first professional contest away from British soil. Ghana’s Ashelley (12-6, 11 KOs) will provide a dangerous test for the Birmingham man, with all but one of his victories finishing by knockout.

“I’m fighting a guy with a winning record, who’s game, who’s tall and has a few knockouts,” Hamza explained. “It’s one fight at a time. We will win this fight and see what 2026 brings. I was talking to my manager Chris Glover and they have big plans next year. All I have to do is go out and perform and we will see what is next.

“Pakistan is a very welcoming country and Pakistanis are very nice people. I think Pakistan has been craving for a sport like boxing to come there. These guys [Falcon Sporting Promotions and GloveBoxx] wouldn’t be going back if they weren’t good people. Credit to these guys for offering fighters good opportunities and don’t be surprised if you see some of the big promoters going there in the near future. Maybe one of their guys will end up fighting one of us. Boxing in Pakistan is definitely heading in the right direction.”

The Birmingham man aims to put back-to-back victories together following a period of inactivity. Hamza’s last outing saw him claim a points victory against India’s Lovepreet over a year ago in Birmingham. Prior to that Hamza faced the first defeats in his career, a razor thin unanimous-decision loss to James Beech Jnr for the IBO Continental title and a first round knockout loss for the British and Commonwealth titles against Nathaniel Collins.

The opportunity that presents itself to Hamza offers a chance to be ranked by the WBA as his new backroom team go in search of big fights in 2026.

Hamza joins an extravaganza of boxing with four shows taking place in four days between the 26th and 29th of November which includes Pakistani hero Muhammad Waseem defending his WBA Gold title against Jakrawut Majungoen broadcast live on Triller TV.
