There is no denying that the boxing superstar Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) is currently the talk of the town. His sensational performance against WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney (31-1, 15 KOs) has sent waves across the world of boxing. Moreover, it has also made him an ideal prospect for many notable names in combat sports. UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’ Malley (18-1-1, 12 KOs) recently opened up about facing Garcia for his boxing debut. And it looks like ‘KingRy’ has an answer for Malley’s call out.
O’Malley was talking on the latest episode of his podcast TimboSugarShow. In conversation, he was asked about the possibility of facing Garcia. ‘Suga,’ in turn, seemed confident that he’d soon be ready to face Garcia.
“I’ve still got to become bigger—two more f*cking sick performances. Then we’re talking about being able to do it,” he said.
He also mentioned that he wishes to make their potential fight an iconic one. O’Malley further added, “They told me you can do a boxing fight, 100 percent, if it makes us enough money. So the option’s there. It just has to be able to make enough money. But Ryan, being a f*cking freak like that, you need two A-sides to make a f*cking Floyd-Conor fight.”

O’Malley is currently in line to defend his bantamweight title once again, this time against Georgian MMA fighter Merab Dvalishvili (17-4, 3 KOs). He further cemented his call out by saying he would certainly face Garcia after KO-ing Dvalishvili.

Meanwhile, Garcia posted a boxing poster of O’Malley and himself on X, seemingly accepting the call out. “Rainbow Caca Brain wants to box. Be prepared to bleed rainbow,” he said.
“Why Are We Even Entertaining This Right Now?”
The duo’s excitement, however, was not shared by many notable names from the world of combat sports. In fact, UFC champ Kamaru Usman (20-4, 9 KOs) believes that such “gimmick fights” bring down the standard of the game.
Should @RyanGarcia fight @SugaSeanMMA or is it a gimmick fight? pic.twitter.com/nLewbHRDry

Talking at the Pound 4 Pound podcast that he hosts with Henry Cejudo, he revealed that such fights should not be entertained.
“Why are we even entertaining this right now? Why are we entertaining you going here and there? How about we beat up a couple of guys in my division first and cement myself as a great in my division, before I’m even entertaining these gimmick fights,” he said.
