Last week, Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) was on cloud nine, fresh off a sensational victory against WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney (31-1, 15 KOs). And now it certainly looks like the tables have turned away from favoring him after he tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance. With the accusations rising, ‘KingRy’ is adamant that he is innocent, going as far as claiming that he doesn’t even take supplements.

Garcia’s urine samples were taken prior to the fight. However, the results were only out recently, showing that he had tested positive for Ostarine. His A-sample also screened positive for 19-norandrosterone, which remains unconfirmed until further lab analysis. Moreover, he has ten days to request for the testing of his B-sample.
In a recent video on X, Garcia stated that his fans know that he is not one to use PEDs. “Everybody knows that I don’t cheat. Never taken a steroid. I don’t even know where to get steroids. I barely take supplements. Big lies, I beat his ass,” he said.
On the other hand, his former opponent, Haney, left no stone unturned in calling him out for testing positive. In fact, he even accused him of not taking the sport seriously and mentioned that he owes an apology to his fans.
“We learned about this situation not too long ago and it’s unfortunate Ryan cheated and disrespected both the fans and the sport of boxing by fighting dirty and breaking positive not once, but twice,” Haney said. ‘The Dream’ also added that he gave the fight his 100 percent despite evidently being at a disadvantage against Garcia.
“Lifetime Ban”
Former UFC champ Conor McGregor was “disgusted” by the fact Garcia tested positive. Moreover, he even called for a lifetime ban for the boxer.
“Sad to see, sad to say. Sad and a bit sick. Don’t come near me if I see you ever Ryan Garcia. I am actually disgusted. This ostarine it reminds me of Sean O’Malley — was on that as well. I don’t like this, I’ll bust you both up,” he tweeted. McGregor further mentioned that if he were Haney’s father, he would have ensured that Garcia paid dearly for his actions.
