Super bantamweight contender Sam Goodman (19-0, 8 KOs) is finally making it back to the ring on Wednesday night after missing out on two occasions for a fight with the division’s undisputed king Naoya Inoue.
Goodman had been on a string of bad luck as he suffered a cut over his eye in December when in training camp for Inoue, and after the fight was rescheduled, the cut reopened during a sparring session, which forced Goodman to pull out of the fight. Since then, Goodman took some time off and is returning to face Cesar Vaca Espinoza (19-1-1, 12 KOs) on Wednesday night in Australia. The bout is scheduled for ten rounds and will give Goodman the much-needed work after last gloving up in July 2024.
Both men came within their contracted weight, making their main event official for Wednesday night. Although the fight won’t be streamed in the U.S., FightsATW will provide a recap after the event.
