Headlining the card is a women’s WBO welterweight title fight as the champion Sandy Ryan (7-1-1, 3 KOs) defends against Mikaela Mayer (19-2, 5 KOs). Also on the card will be junior middleweight contender Xander Zayas (19-0, 12 KOs) and featherweight Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington (12-0, 8 KOs).

Ryan ended 2023 with a tough, split-decision loss to Jessica McCaskill in a fight many observers thought she won. She returned in March and defeated Terri Harper to become the WBO welterweight champion. Ryan now returns to the US to defend against Mayer in NYC, where she’s never fought as a pro. Can the 31-year-old Ryan from Derby, UK, leave the Garden with a win and her title?

Mayer is coming off a narrow-split decision loss to Natasha Jonas in January in her first pro fight as a welterweight. With this being her second fight at 147, will Mayer be more comfortable with the weight and utilize her boxing skills to score a decision and become a two-time champion?
